Our Founder’s Story

From the Founder

Hi, I'm Kate.

I'm a mechanical engineer with a Master's degree in Systems Engineering, an MBA, a mom, and someone who has spent most of her life researching how things work.

For years, I focused on building a successful career. Like many ambitious professionals, there were seasons where I worked 12- to 14-hour days, chased goals, and spent most of my energy thinking about what needed to happen next. While I was grateful for the opportunities I had, I slowly realized I wasn't investing enough time in the things that mattered most: my health, my family, and the environment I was creating around us.

Becoming a mother changed the way I looked at everything.

I began paying closer attention to the spaces where my family spent time, the food we ate, the products we brought into our home, and the environments that made us feel our best. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion for gardening, greenhouses, hydroponics, outdoor living, wellness spaces, and intentional design.

As an engineer, I've always believed that systems matter. Over time, I came to see our homes the same way. The spaces we create influence our habits, our health, our relationships, our creativity, and even our peace of mind.

I believe many families today spend too much time caught in the rush of everyday life and not enough time creating spaces that allow them to slow down, reconnect, and simply enjoy being together.

That's why I started Arcadia Yard.

Every product we carry is carefully researched and thoughtfully selected with one goal in mind: helping families create beautiful, intentional spaces that support health, connection, learning, joy, and an elevated quality of life.

Whether you're growing fresh food in a greenhouse, creating a backyard retreat, building a place for your children to play, or designing a space where family and friends can gather, my hope is that Arcadia Yard helps you create an environment that brings more beauty, wellness, and meaning into everyday life.

Because at the end of the day, the spaces we create shape the lives we live.
