Why Arcadia Yard Exists
Arcadia Yard wasn't created because the world needed another outdoor retailer.
It was created from a belief that our environment shapes our health, our relationships, and the way we experience everyday life.
Why did you start Arcadia Yard?
Arcadia Yard was born from a simple belief: the spaces we create shape the lives we live.
As a mechanical engineer with a Master's degree in Systems Engineering, an MBA, and a mom, I've spent much of my life studying how systems work. Over time, I began looking at our homes the same way. The food we eat, the environments we spend time in, and the products we surround ourselves with all influence our health, happiness, and overall wellbeing.
I created Arcadia Yard to help families build outdoor spaces that support a healthier, more intentional way of living.
What inspired you to become passionate about outdoor living?
For years, I worked long hours building my career and chasing professional goals. There were seasons where I worked 12- to 14-hour days and often found myself prioritizing work over the things that mattered most—my health, my family, and my own wellbeing.
Like many people, I experienced firsthand how easy it is to get caught in the rat race.
That experience led me to rethink what I wanted my home and life to look like. I became fascinated by gardening, greenhouses, outdoor living, wellness spaces, nutrition, and the powerful impact our surroundings have on how we feel each day.
What does your dream backyard look like?
My dream backyard is designed around health, connection, and peace.
I imagine a space filled with flowers, greenery, and areas dedicated to wellness. A greenhouse for growing fresh food year-round. Comfortable outdoor dining spaces where family and friends gather. A pool for fun and movement. A sauna and cold plunge for recovery and health. Fire features for meaningful conversations on cool evenings.
Most importantly, it's a space that encourages people to slow down, be present, and genuinely enjoy one another.
Why do you care so much about greenhouses and hydroponic systems?
Because I believe health starts with what we put into our bodies.
In a world where many families feel disconnected from their food, gardening offers an opportunity to become more self-sufficient and more intentional about what we consume. It also teaches children valuable lessons about responsibility, patience, nature, and where food comes from.
Hydroponic systems make growing food more accessible by removing many of the challenges that traditional gardening can present.
How do you choose the products sold at Arcadia Yard?
I research everything.
Every product we carry is carefully evaluated for quality, craftsmanship, durability, functionality, and design. My engineering background has taught me to look beyond marketing claims and focus on products that deliver long-term value.
If I wouldn't confidently recommend it to my own family, I won't recommend it to yours.
What do you hope customers gain from Arcadia Yard?
More than anything, I hope Arcadia Yard helps families create environments that support health, connection, learning, joy, and an elevated quality of life.
I want children to grow up playing outside, learning new skills, and feeling connected to nature. I want parents to have spaces where they can unwind, recharge, and spend meaningful time with the people they love.
Because at the end of the day, the spaces we create become the backdrop for our lives—and those moments matter.
